Extreme Climate, Extreme Hunger
Across the world, hunger is on the rise, and climate change is the second leading cause. More than 821 million people, including millions of innocent children, don't know where their next meal is coming from.
Families are being pushed to the brink of starvation by extreme weather, like prolonged drought, desert expansion, floods and tropical storms. A full 80 percent of the world's hungry people live in countries that are most prone to climate disasters.
Imagine being a farmer whose children are crying out for food, but you don't have anything to give.
Or a mother, forced to watch helplessly as her infant wastes away. She hasn't eaten in days — and can no longer produce the milk she needs to feed her child.
When crops dry up or are washed away, people are desperate for food, but in many places, there's nothing left to eat.
Hunger is heartbreaking. It robs children of their futures and fills families with pain.
But it doesn't have to be this way. YOU can make a difference. YOU can replace heartbreak with hope.
You are more powerful than you know. Be a hero for hungry families, sign our pledge and ask others to do the same. Take action today. Together, we can ensure that families in crisis have the food they need to survive.
